Uis together with the Ugab River and the famous Brandberg mountain offers a few day excursions for the traveler that wants to experience true Namibia, staying at Daureb Isib Campsite

Daureb Isib means “view the Brandberg” in the Damara language.
This campsite is named Daureb Isib because it is situated in the village of Uis, in the foothills of the mighty Brandberg mountain(the highest mountain in Namibia) and enjoys its magnificent view.   GPS Coordinates (21º  12′ 58.48″ South and 14º 51′ 46.73″ East)

The campsite consists of 3 private shaded sites designed to give comfort and camping friendliness. Each site has its own shower, toilet, kitchenette and barbeque; shaded parking high enough for roof top tents, and space for ground tents. Hot and cold water is provided from a gas geyser. 220V/50hz Electricity is provided.

There is a communal swimming pool and lapa for relaxation and group get-togethers.

Campers are reminded that they are sharing the desert with its natural inhabitants, flora and fauna. There are insects, snakes, scorpions, rabbits, hares, porcupines, birds etc. who also live in the area, and campers should always be on the lookout for them when walking around the site. These animals do not want confrontation and naturally keep out of sight. Many are nocturnal. The site is landscaped with desert plants, bushes and trees etc., many plants have thorns!

Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control.

Children enjoying the swimming pool must be accompanied by an adult.
